The ESET NOD32 Antivirus 2.7 - LAN Update Server version (Mirror) provides you with the ability to maintain a local copy of virus signature and program component updates on your own network. It helps save bandwidth by centralizing the download and distribution of these updates to ESET NOD32 Antivirus 2.7 clients, and also allows you to provide virus signature updates to ESET clients which are not directly connected to the Internet.
This Mirror cannot be used to provide updates to ESET NOD32 Antivirus 3.0 and 4.0 or ESET Smart Security clients.
To configure the LAN Update Server (Mirror), perform the following steps:

Open the NOD32 Control Center by clicking the icon
in the Windows notification area or by clicking Start →All Programs →Eset → NOD32 Control Center.
From this point you can configure the Mirror to provide updates via an internal HTTP server, or via a shared network folder. To provide updates via an internal HTTP server, perform the following steps directly below (to provide updates via a shared network folder, click here):

Select the Create update mirror check box to enable all other mirror options.

Select the Enable access to files via the HTTP protocol check box.

Enter the appropriate ESET-supplied values in the Login name: and Password: fields.

In the Update mirror folder: field, enter the directory path to the folder that will contain the update files.

Select all operating system types for any clients which will be accessing the Mirror server.

Click OK to receive the following dialog box:

Click No; we must first update the client before we can update the Mirror.

Click Update (below Mirror in the NOD32 Control Center) and then click Update Now in the Update window on the right. The following window may be displayed:

Click Yes to initiate the update process.
To configure the Mirror to provide updates via a shared network folder, perform the steps directly below after clicking the Setup button in step 2.

Created a shared folder on a local or network device. This folder must be readable by all users running ESET software, and writeable by the local SYSTEM account (If the shared folder is located on another computer in the network, it is necessary to specify authentication for accessing that computer).

Select the Create update mirror check box. Do not select the Enable access to files via the HTTP protocol check box.

Enter the appropriate ESET-supplied values in the Login name: and Password: fields.

Enter the name of the shared folder (created in step 1) in the format //UNC/PATH.

Select all operating system types for any clients which will be accessing the Mirror server.
