Version 1049 of the ESET Smart Security Personal firewall module was released Wednesday, June 24, 2009. After downloading the new version, users running ESET Smart Security 3.0 may have experienced difficulty connecting to the Internet, depending on their system configurations.
The problem can be fixed either by installing the latest release of ESET Smart Security 3.0, which is 3.0.684 or by installing ESET Smart Security 4.0. We strongly recommend that you install ESET Smart Security 4.0 to fix this problem. For instructions on upgrading your ESET Smart Security product, click here.
To check what release of ESET Smart Security or what version of the Personal firewall you have, please follow the steps below:
- Open the main program window by clicking the ESET icon
next to the system clock or by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Smart Security.
- Click Help and support → About ESET Smart Security. In the About ESET Smart Security Window, the release information for your version is directly below ESET Smart Security. Scroll down in the window until you see Personal firewall module. If your ESET Smart Security is up to date, the numbers should read 1049.
