Why can't I download my ESET security product? (Solution checklist)

Once you have received your username and password (after purchasing), you should be able to download your ESET security product. If you are still having difficulties, use the solution checklist below to figure out what's going wrong.

  1. Are you certain you are entering your username and password correctly? Your username and password are specific, case-sensitive authentication data ESET's servers use to validate your purchase. A single typo can prevent you from downloading your ESET security product. You cannot choose or customize your username or password.
     
  2. Are you attempting to download the same product that you purchased? Before downloading, please ensure you are attempting to download the correct product because your license is only valid for the specific ESET security product that you selected at checkout. For example, you cannot use an ESET Smart Security username or password to download an installer for ESET NOD32 Antivirus or vice versa.
     
  3. There are different builds of both ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus that are designed to run on either 32- or 64-bit processors. Are you downloading the right ESET security product build for your computer?
     
  4. Are you downloading the installer .msi file to a hard-to-find location on your computer and/or are you choosing to Run rather than Save the installer?

    When you select your product download and enter your information, you will be prompted to Run or Save. Click Save and save the installer .msi file to your Desktop. Once the download completes, double-click the file you just downloaded to the Desktop and click Run. Then, follow the steps in the installation wizard and restart your computer when prompted.
