ESET customers who purchase ESET Smart Security Home Edition, ESET NOD32 Antivirus Home Edition, ESET Cybersecurity for Mac or ESET Family Security Pack can receive a free license extension by participating in ESET's Refer a Friend program.

After 31 days from purchase or activation date, eligible customers can generate a referral link at ESET's Refer a Friend page. By sending the link to family and friends who then click the link and purchase ESET Smart Security, ESET NOD32 Antivirus, ESET Cybersecurity or ESET Family Security Pack, the eligible customer's license will be extended by one month (the extension will be issued 32 days after the referral purchase). With each qualified referral purchase, the customer will receive an additional 30-day license extension. There is no limit to the number of extensions issued from qualified purchases. To receive a license extension, the new purchase must be initiated by clicking your referral link and purchasing at go.eset.com/us/referrals. The ESET customer will be notified by email about the license extension and new expiration date 32 days after a qualified referral purchase.

Prior to 2012, any referrer or referred purchaser will automatically be entered into a quarterly drawing to win either a MacBook Pro® or a Sony VAIO® (estimated value $1,500). As of January 1, 2012, any referrer or referred purchaser will automatically be entered into a quarterly drawing to win either a MacBook Air® or an Asus Zenbook™ (estimated value $1,100). For each quarterly prize, about 14 days into the next quarter one eligible referrer/purchaser will be selected at random from all those who referred or purchased in the prior quarter. This referrer/purchaser will be offered a choice of the two prizes. Winners will be notified by email (if available) or postal mail within the first month after the prize quarter ends. Refer a Friend Rules and Eligibility

Only U.S. and Canadian customers who purchase ESET Smart Security Home Edition, ESET NOD32 Antivirus Home Edition, ESET Cybersecurity or ESET Family Security Pack are eligible to be a referee or referrer.

Customers who purchased ESET products prior to March 1, 2009 are not eligible.

The free extension can only be granted for purchases made using the referrer's link on www.eset.com, not for purchases made by contacting ESET directly or through other resellers.

Referees must purchase a new license (not a renewal) for the referrer to receive a license extension.

The license extension for the referrer will not be issued until 32 days after the friend has purchased.

Refunded purchases are not eligible for license extensions.

Extensions can only be applied to licenses that have been activated for 31 or more days, or to licenses that have been expired for less than two months.
 

Official Sweepstakes Rules

1. Program Description/Eligibility: No purchase necessary. This promotion is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, ages 13 and older. Employees of ESET LLC, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and any person working on the product, project, or promotion, advertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law. The promotion begins on March 1, 2011 and ends on December 31, 2012 ("Entry Period"). There will be 4 separate prize drawings at the end of each quarter during the Entry Period.

2. How to Enter: You will automatically be entered into a sweepstakes drawing if you refer a friend who purchases a product on the ESET website between March 1, 2011 and December 31, 2012. You will also automatically be entered into the sweepstakes drawing if you are the referred friend who purchases the ESET product. Alternatively, you can put your name, address, phone number, and email address (if available) on a piece of paper, insert it into a stamped envelope, and mail it to: Refer a Friend Promotion, ESET LLC, 610 W. Ash St., Suite 1900, San Diego, CA 92101. Mailed entries must be postmarked from March 1, 2011 to December 31, 2012. Only one entry per household will be considered. No undue consideration will be given to entries submitted by referral/purchase vs. entries submitted by mail. Approximately 14 days after the end of each quarter during the Entry Period, one winner will be selected in a random drawing from eligible entries in the previous quarter to win prior to 2012 a MacBook Pro® or a Sony VAIO® (estimated retail value, $1,500) and after 2012 a MacBook Air® or an Asus Zenbook™ (estimated value $1,100). The winner will be given the opportunity to choose which prize is preferred. Only one prize can be won by a household during the Entry Period. Winners will be notified by email (if available) or by postal mail.

No responsibility is assumed by ESET LLC for lost, late, or misdirected entries or any computer, online, telephone, or technical malfunctions that may occur. All entries become the property of ESET LLC and will not be returned. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. Limit one prize per person during the Entry Period.

No substitution, transfer, or assignment of prize permitted, except that ESET LLC reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent value in the event the offered prize is unavailable. All taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winners.

3. General Conditions: Entrants agree to abide by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions of ESET LLC, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this sweepstakes. This sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the United States. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Prize winners may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within seven (7) days following the date of attempted notification. Non-compliance within this time period may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Entrants further grant to ESET LLC the right to use and publish their proper name and state online, in print, and in any other media in connection with the contest. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for ESET LLC to use winners' names and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. By entering, participants release and hold harmless ESET LLC, its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this contest or any prize won.

4. ESET LLC Business Systems: If for any reason the ESET LLC website is not capable of running as planned, including tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of ESET LLC that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, ESET LLC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes. ESET LLC assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications-line failure, theft, or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. ESET LLC is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, or software, or for failure of any email or entry to be received by ESET LLC on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes. Caution: any attempt by a contestant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the game is a violation of criminal and civil laws and, should such an attempt be made, sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such contestant to the fullest extent permitted by law.
