  2. Select Save when prompted and save the file to the Desktop.

Important!

Running two antivirus products on the same computer can degrade performance and cause system instability. It is important that any previously installed antivirus software is uninstalled from your system before installing your ESET endpoint product. Please see our list of uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software.

II. Install your ESET endpoint product

Important!

If your client workstations are running version 4.0.x or ealier of ESET endpoint products, you should first uninstall before installing version 5:

Follow the steps below to install your ESET endpoint product. If you are running Windows with User Account Control (UAC) turned on (Windows Vista or later), you may be prompted with additional dialog boxes not shown in the steps below. If prompted, please confirm that you wish to install ESET, as well as any associated device drivers.

  1. Double-click the ESET Endpoint Security or ESET Endpoint Antivirus installer icon. If you are prompted by Windows to open the file, click Open.

  2. The Setup window will appear. Click Next to continue.

    Usernames and Passwords

Remember to enter your Username and Password exactly as they are written:

    • The username and password are case sensitive
    • The hyphen in the username is necessary
    • The password is ten characters long and all lowercase
    • If you are copying and pasting, make sure you don't select an extra blank space
    • We do not use the letter L in passwords (use the number one (1) instead)
    • A big '0' is the number zero (0); a little 'o' is the lowercase letter o

  1. If you just finished installing ESET Endpoint Security, the New network connection detected window will prompt you to choose the protection mode of your computer in the network. Select Allow sharing if you are performing this installation in an office or home setting on a secure network. Only select Strict protection if you are traveling with your client computer and ESET Endpoint Security detects a new network in a public environment.
