Safari.app cannot be excluded from Web Protection in ESET Cyber Security and ESET Cyber Security Pro (5.x / 6.x)

Issue

  • You have added Safari.app to the list of excluded applications in Setup  Enter application preferences Exclusions  Web and Mail
     
  • Safari.app is not excluded from Web Protection scanning

 

Solution

Upgrade to the latest version

Many of the issues you might be experiencing with your ESET product have been resolved in the latest version. We highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version:

 

 

NOTE:

This applies to ESET customers using Mavericks (OS X 10.9)

ESET Cyber Security and ESET Cyber Security Pro cannot exclude Safari.app from Web Protection scanning due to the issue in the new WebKit2, which is part of Mavericks (OS X 10.9). We are currently waiting for a resolution of this issue. For further information, please contact Apple Support.
